Who is the grandparent memory journal for?

This lovely keepsake journal is for a grandparent or a soon to be grandparent. It’s a place to capture their life story. They can complete the journal independently or together with family. It can then be passed on to their grandchildren and be a gift for the generations to come.

The journal can be purchased as a gift; it's a great way to let your grandparents know how much you cherish their stories and how much you appreciate them. Or grandparents can purchase the journal and gift it to their grandchildren – they'll be inheriting your autobiography; a true family heirloom!

What do the different titles of the grandparent memory journal mean?

The different titles are simply 'grandma' and 'grandpa' in different languages/ nicknames.

Nani and Nana refers to a maternal grandmother and grandfather respectively across some cultures. Nani and Nana also refers to an English nickname for grandma. All contents of the journal are written in British English and the questions are relevant to all. So the great thing is both definitions of Nani and Nana can use the journal!

Dadi and Dada refers to a paternal grandmother and grandfather respectively across some cultures. All contents of the book are written in British English.

As a small business we have started with these titles, but we hope to expand our range to cover more languages and nicknames for grandparents.

What pen can I use to write in the journal?

We recommended writing in the journal using a ballpoint pen. Do not use a marker pen, gel pen or similar as they will bleed through.

How do I care for my journal?

All journals will inevitably show signs of use – it's a testament to how much you've enjoyed using it! It's natural for scuffs to appear, particularly on the delicate gold foiling areas. We do however recommend taking simple steps to avoid any unwanted wear. For instance:

  • avoid putting anything on top of the journal to help limit any scratches
  • remember not to leave any drinks on or near the journal to avoid any tea or coffee stains
  • avoid touching the journal with dirty hands
  • try to store the journal in a dust free environment to protect the linen cover
  • do not use a marker pen, gel pen or similar as they will bleed through the pages

Can I put pictures in the journal?

Our grandparent memory journal is primarily a written journal. Therefore the spaces for photographs are very *limited*. There are some pages in the 'Family’ section where you can put some small photographs.

Can the journal be personalised?

Unfortunately we are unable to offer personalisation. At the beginning of the journal there is space for the person completing it to write their name, put a small photograph and space for them to write a message.

What if I can't answer all the questions in the journal?

We are all one of a kind. For that reason not all questions presented will be applicable for every user. You are able to pick and choose which questions are right for you; feel free to leave some blank. One of the many benefits of guided questions is that they may help prompt other memories and details that the user may have otherwise forgotten.

If the journal is a gift you can read out the questions you know your grandparent would love to answer and write down the answers for them (tip: you can even video them answering as an extra keepsake)!

An item I like is 'out of stock' will it be restocked?

Please contact us and we will be happy to check if/when the item will be back. Be sure to keep a look out on our social media platforms and join our mailing list as we may first post information there about restocking.

Where can I find your shipping details?

All shipping information (costs, delivery times and more) can be found on our shipping page

Where do you deliver?

We ship all across the UK.

But great news - we also ship internationally from our Etsy store! All international customers head over to our Etsy store to place your order.

Can I track my order?

Yes! We use a Royal Mail tracked delivery service.

Once your order has been dispatched you’ll receive an email with a tracking link. The tracking link will not work immediately as Royal Mail will need to update the status of the delivery once we’ve handed the parcel over to them. Please always check your spam folder

Order is saying 'delivered' but I have not received it

If the tracking service says ‘delivered’ but you have not received your item, please check if it’s with one of your neighbours or your local post/sorting office as this can be quite common. If that doesn't solve the mystery please contact Royal Mail (the shipping provider) to help ascertain where your parcel is. Feel free to reach out to us and we'll see if there's anything we can do to assist.

What if my item hasn't arrived?

Please contact us if it has been more than 5 working days from the expected due date and we will try our best to assist you with this.

I have accidently given the wrong address for my order

If you have provided an incomplete or incorrect shipping address then you will not receive your parcel. Unfortunately, this is beyond our control, and we cannot accept responsibility for an inaccurate shipping address.

Of course, we understand this is obvious, but this can be a big challenge to small businesses. So please do double (or even triple) check your shipping address is correct prior to placing your order.

If you notice the error immediately, please contact us straight away so we are able to ship it to the correct address. However, if the order has already been sent out, then unfortunately we will not be able to do anything and you will not receive your order.

What if there's an issue with my item upon delivery?

Please inspect your order upon delivery and contact us immediately if there's an issue with your item. We package our journals with great care and protection, in the unlikely event the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, contact us so we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

We will require details and photographs within 48 hours of you receiving the order.

Can I cancel or amend my order?

If you wish to cancel or make any changes to your order, please contact us straight away, ideally within 1 hour of placing the order.

PLEASE NOTE: We usually begin working on your order right away. So if the item has already been dispatched we will be unable to cancel or amend your order.

Do I need to pay for my return?

We do not offer pre paid returns, therefore it is the buyers responsibility for any returns postage costs.

Can I exchange an item?

Unfortunately, we currently do not have the option for exchanges.
